Q. What is a home inspection?
A. A home inspection, performed by a professional is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a house to provide an accurate and honest evaluation of the house's condition at the time of the inspection. This evaluation is presented to you in a comprehensive Inspection Report so that you are fully informed and can feel confident about the decisions you make that will affect you and your family. We at Feldman Building Inspections, Inc. feel that a complete Home Inspection should not only point out the problem areas, but should also highlight the finer features of the house.
Q. What parts of the house are inspected and how much does it cost?
A. Please refer to our Inspection and Pricing list for complete details.
Q. How do I select a Home Inspection company?
A. Buying the right house may be one of the most important investments you make toward your family's future. When selecting the right Home Inspection company, it is essential that you base your decision on experience of the Home Inspector. A qualified Home Inspector should possess a working knowledge of residential structures and systems, a general knowledge of the Real Estate field and a strong affiliation with ethical and respected home inspection agencies such as the American Society of Building Inspectors (ASHI) and the Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI). Barry Feldman, President of Feldman Building Inspections, Inc. has been in the housing profession for over 28 years and is affiliated with both organizations.
Q. Should I be present at the time of the Inspection?
A. Yes. The inspection will provide you with greater insight into the workings of the house. You are encouraged to ask questions. We want you to be fully informed about the home and feel confident about your decisions. We will also provide general maintenance tips while the Inspection is in progress.
Q. Will the Home Inspector just discuss the defects only?
A. Absolutely not! A comprehensive Inspection should not only bring defects and problem areas to your attention but also highlight the beautiful and positive aspects of a house, too. Feldman Building Inspections, Inc. has a duty to provide you with a complete picture of the house, which should also include some of its finer features.
Q. How long does an Inspection take?
A. That depends upon the overall size of the house and the number of rooms. An average Inspection should take about 2 to 2-1/2 hours (1 to 1-1/2 hours for a condo). There are over 500 different components in a house and Feldman Building Inspections, Inc. performs a proper and thorough Inspection.
Q. How soon will I get the Inspection Report?
A. Some Home inspection companies can take a few days to send your Report. Feldman Building Inspections, Inc. believes in Same Day Service and gives you your Inspection Report at the time of the Inspection. The Report is very easy to read and we briefly review with you the areas in question at that time. Also included in your Inspection, is a telephone consultation to clarify any items for you after you've had some time to read through your Inspection Report.
